About
Three days in northern Israel's most dramatic landscapes — Caesarea's Roman ruins and Rosh HaNikra sea caves, the volcanic Golan Heights with Syrian-era bunkers, and northern Galilee's Banias waterfalls, Nimrod Fortress, and the mystical city of Safed.
This 3-day tour takes you through northern Israel's spectacular diversity — ancient Rome, medieval Crusaders, Cold War Syria, and mystical Judaism all within a few hours' drive. Day 1 travels to the Roman port of Caesarea (theater, hippodrome, palace and temple ruins), Haifa's terraced Baha'i Gardens, Rosh HaNikra's dramatic white sea caves, and Acre's Underground Crusader fortress. Day 2 ascends the Golan Heights via the Plain of Armageddon: Hamat Gader's ancient hot springs, the Shalom Observatory, Katzrin's excavated Talmudic village, and Mount Bental's Syrian bunkers from the 1967 Six Day War. Day 3 ventures into northern Galilee — climbing Mount Hermon to the Banias nature reserve with its rushing streams and waterfalls where a Roman city once stood, the 13th-century Nimrod Fortress commanding the valley, lunch at a Druze restaurant, and ending in Safed — one of Judaism's four holy cities — with its Caro and Ari Synagogues and vibrant Artists' Quarter. Departs Tuesdays and Wednesdays in English.
